Work At Home

Opportunities

These opportunities range from Lingerie parties, Consultancy, Creative writing or artwork or Computer generated opportunities; running every aspect of your own business, and all the various parts in between.

With the cost of gasoline rising and resources running out, even more evolutionary changes will be taking place. Be at the head of the game not one of the losers that follow.

  1. Do you have the right sort of skills base for work at home?
    • Computer skills
    • Creative Skills
    • Organisational ability
    • Practical Skills
    • Transferable skills

People have many more skills than they think. Hobbies often use considerable abilities, but are not thought of as important in the context of work.

    Task

Write down all the things you are good at.

Write down all the things you like to do.

    Is there a match?

Eg. An example would be. You are good at creative writing, but don't see it as a serious opportunity for an income, but you could use these skills in writing copy either for your own business or even someone else's business.

  2. Are you the right personality type to succeed at work at home? (Take a psychological profile test)
    • Are you able to discipline yourself?
    • Focus
    • Dash of obsessive compulsion helps
    • Do you thrive in isolation or chaos
    • Are you an independent thinker
    • Do you work better in a team? (that team could be family members)
    • Will you miss the socialising at work (Maybe not the office politics!)
  3. What sort of support network do you have?
    • Partner who encourages you to branch out.
    • Parents or other extended family who will help out when required.
    • Professional help, ie accountant.
    • Friends who will not be dream stealers.
    • Friends who have done something similar and will give advice and relevant information.
  4. What sort of Equipment do you need to get started?
    • Telephone/fax answering machine
    • Computer
    • Car
    • Desk (this can be the kitchen table, Anita Roddick of Body Shop, started her business on the kitchen table)
    • Other specialised items
  5. Financial Situation
    • Do you have a partner who is in regular employment and can support you while you get started?
    • Have you funds put by until the income starts coming in?
    • Are there grants available to help you get started?
    • Are you already up to the limit in debt, and this is a last stab at making it big and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps?

Well you might just make it lucky but experiences says that if you can't manage your personal finances, then managing business finances will go the same way.

(If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you always got) Aristotle Looks like things haven't changed much in over 5 thousand years.

So if you are not good with money then get someone else to do it, or go on a course and really learn how to manage accounts.

So you have answered all the questions and you still feel it is right for you. What now?
